At Spinal Injury Case Management we identify the most appropriate rehabilitation program for each individual client. This may be working with a local physiotherapist who works alone or a larger company who can offer a combination of all therapies. ALL therapists we engage with will be required to show us that they have the skills appropriate for those with Spinal Cord Injury.

We have links with therapists in various parts of the country who we often refer clients to with a proven record of achieving excellent results with our clients. This will include physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech and Language therapists, Pain management solutions, alternative holistic therapies and much more. There will always be an element of choice and approval from the client with regard to who they employ to assist with their rehabilitation.

Some clients will have such complicated rehabilitation needs that we occasionally require the assistance of a rehabilitation consultant to work with us, this will be a medical Doctor.

Some clients may require the assistance of a Rehabilitation assistant to assist them with an ongoing home therapy program and / or hydrotherapy on a daily basis to enable the client to achieve their goals.

Rehabilitation reviews and evaluations will be held regularly involving the client and all the MDT where necessary. New goals will be set where appropriate with the client at each review.

Each client will have their own specific and individual needs. No two clients require exactly the same.

Most of our clients require some element of care or support. SICM Ltd work closely with the client to ensure the correct level of care and support is achieved. Carer’s can be called carers, support workers or Personal Assistants (PA’s). Care and support can be provided in many different ways. This may be achieved using a local agency, a specialist agency who are trained specifically to care for those with spinal cord injury, Self employed carers or the client may wish to directly employ their care staff, this means the client becomes the Employer. (SICM Ltd have a payroll service and can act as a payroll agent) SICM Ltd can assist the client to achieve any of these choices.

Funding of care can be complicated. The Case Manger will assist to enable the client to execute whichever provision is chosen. The client will usually be assessed by Social Services and or Continuing Health care and may be awarded funds from either or jointly, based on the type and amount of care required. A full assessment will be carried out and the Case Manager can help to assist and facilitate this process by working closing with the client and statutory services. SICM Ltd are able to hold client funds from both statutory services and private funds and can manage all local authority transactions which relieves the burden from client.

Our Case Managers all have experience with Care providers and Care funding agencies. They will always be present at statutory funding assessments to support the client. Our Case Managers are able to liaise with the various decision panels of statutory funding and can assist with any appeals where funding is refused in the initial stages.

SICM Ltd can also put together private packages of care where this is deemed the most appropriate course of action. Full assistance with recruitment and employment support will be given.
